Pressure Cooker AIP Bacon Collard Greens

Bacon Collard Greens

These come together quickly in the instant pot. They just need to cook 6 minutes to melt in your mouth! The bacon doesn't hurt either.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 bunch collard greens Stem and cut the collard greens into 1/2 in ribbons.
  • 4 slices bacon Cut the bacon into 1/2 in chunks.
  • 1 medium apple Chop up the apple into 1/2 in cubes.
  • 1 cup bone broth or water

Instructions
 

  • Saute the bacon until browned and add the apple chunks.
  • Add the collard greens and coat in bacon fat. Add the bone broth and cook on Manual High Pressure for 6 minutes. Use the quick pressure release method. 
  • It's ready to eat. Add salt to taste and serve with some pulled chicken or pulled pork.

Stovetop

  • Saute the bacon in a heavy-bottomed pot. Add the cubed apples.
  • Add the collard greens and coat in bacon fat. Add the bone broth and simmer for about 40 minutes. 
  • Taste and add salt if necessary.
