Pressure Cooker AIP Bacon Collard Greens

Bacon Collard Greens

These come together quickly in the instant pot. They just need to cook 6 minutes to melt in your mouth! The bacon doesn't hurt either. 
Servings: 4

Ingredients
  

  • 1 bunch collard greens Stem and cut the collard greens into 1/2 in ribbons.
  • 4 slices bacon Cut the bacon into 1/2 in chunks.
  • 1 medium apple Chop up the apple into 1/2 in cubes.
  • 1 cup bone broth or water

Method
 

  1. Saute the bacon until browned and add the apple chunks.
  2. Add the collard greens and coat in bacon fat. Add the bone broth and cook on Manual High Pressure for 6 minutes. Use the quick pressure release method. 
  3. It's ready to eat. Add salt to taste and serve with some pulled chicken or pulled pork.
Stovetop
  1. Saute the bacon in a heavy-bottomed pot. Add the cubed apples.
  2. Add the collard greens and coat in bacon fat. Add the bone broth and simmer for about 40 minutes. 
  3. Taste and add salt if necessary.
